Abandoned Reality

This website hosts a text-based multiplayer online role-playing game (MUD) called Ellandor, which has been around since 1996. Players can log in to explore a fictional world where roleplay is enforced, although the server's original staff is no longer active. The game atmosphere is shaped by a rich backstory, involving a catastrophic event known as "The Shattering" that drastically altered the game world and its inhabitants.

Game Access and Client Options

Visitors can play directly in their web browsers or use various third-party MUD clients, such as MUSHclient and Mudlet. The site provides specific connection details, including port numbers, ensuring easy access for returning players. There is no active administration managing quests or events, but the server remains live for nostalgic players wishing to revisit their old adventures.

Background and Setting

The lore describes a grand history of Ellandor, including two moons and vibrant civilizations before a volcanic explosion heralded the onset of chaos and darkness. This event irrevocably transformed the landscape and its denizens, leading to an ongoing conflict that enriches the game's narrative and environment.
