To provide the Friank Service (including our Chrome Extension and Android Application), we collect and process specific types of user data. We are committed to protecting your privacy and complying with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy and Google Play Developer Policies.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Google Account Data: When you log in, we collect your email address, name, and profile picture (via Google OAuth) solely to create your user profile and attribute your reviews to you.
1.2 Browsing Data (URLs): To provide URL-specific ratings, security warnings, and chat rooms, the Service reads the URL of the webpage you are currently visiting. We do not track or store your overall browsing history on our servers. The URL is only processed temporarily to fetch the relevant rating data for that specific page.
1.3 Android Accessibility Service API (For Android App Users): The Friank Android app utilizes the Android Accessibility Service API exclusively to detect the URL of the website you are currently browsing on your mobile device. This is necessary to trigger and display the relevant community chat and reviews for that specific page. The data collected via the Accessibility Service is strictly limited to the current URL, is processed momentarily, is not logged as browsing history on our servers, and is never shared or sold to third parties.
2. How We Use Your Information
Your data is used strictly to provide the core functionality of the Service: authenticating your account, allowing you to leave reviews, and displaying safety ratings and community chats for the active webpage.
3. Data Sharing and Third Parties
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information, accessibility data, or browsing data to any third parties.
4. Google Policies Limited Use Disclosure (Crucial)
Friank's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy and Google Play Developer Policies, including all Limited Use requirements.
5. Data Retention and Deletion
You may request the deletion of your account and all associated data at any time via the settings. Upon request, your profile and associated content will be removed from our active databases.
Terms of Service
These Terms of Service constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Friank regarding the use of the Friank browser extension, Android application, and related web services (hereinafter: the "Service").
By installing the Service, logging into it, or using it in any manner, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to any part of these terms, you must uninstall and refrain from using the Service.
1. Use of the Service and Account Registration
Full use of the Service's interactive features (such as writing reviews and chatting) requires signing in using a Google Account. Some viewing features may be available to guests.
By connecting to the Service, you represent and warrant that you are authorized to use the account and that the information you provide is accurate and complete. You are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials.
2. User Generated Content (UGC)
The Service allows users to publish reviews, ratings, comments, and engage in chat conversations. Any content you upload or share is your sole responsibility. Friank is not responsible for content published by users and does not undertake to monitor content before it is published.
Users are strictly prohibited from publishing content that is offensive, threatening, racist, pornographic, defamatory, infringing on intellectual property rights, spam, or any content violating applicable laws. Friank reserves the right to monitor, edit, remove, or block any content or user accounts that violate these Terms, at its sole discretion.
3. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Service is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis. Friank makes no guarantees that the Service will operate without interruptions or errors, be continuously available, or be free from unauthorized access. Use of the Service is entirely at the user’s own risk.
4. Limitation of Liability
Under no circumstances shall Friank or its developers be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising from the use of, or inability to use, the Service.
5. Changes to the Service
Friank reserves the right to update, modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service at any time, without prior notice.
6. Account and Data Deletion
Users may delete their account and associated data through their personal profile settings. Revoking access to your Google account must be done through your Google account settings.
7. Advertisements and Sponsored Content
Friank may display advertisements or sponsored links within the interface. Friank is not responsible for the content or reliability of third-party advertisements.
8. Intellectual Property
All rights related to the Friank Service, including its code, design, interface, logos, and trademarks, are the exclusive property of Friank. You may not copy, reverse engineer, or commercially exploit the Service without written permission.
9. Privacy Policy
Use of the Service involves the collection and processing of information as described in our Privacy Policy. By using the Service, you agree to these principles.
10. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms shall be governed exclusively by the laws of the State of Israel. Any dispute shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in Israel.
11. Updates to the Terms of Service
Friank reserves the right to update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
12. Indemnification
The user agrees to indemnify and hold harmless Friank and its partners from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from the user’s violation of these Terms or publication of unlawful content.
13. Severability
If any provision is found to be invalid by a court, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
14. Child Safety & Zero Tolerance Policy
Friank is deeply committed to providing a safe and secure environment for all users. We maintain a strict, absolute zero-tolerance policy against any form of child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) and child sexual abuse material (CSAM). Any user found generating, sharing, or promoting such content will be permanently banned from the platform immediately, without prior notice. Furthermore, we actively cooperate with law enforcement and will report any such incidents, along with the user's details, to the relevant national and international authorities. If you encounter any concerning or abusive content, please use our in-app reporting tool (the red flag 🚩 icon) to alert our moderation team immediately.
